Memorial Day 2025, noticed on Monday, Might 26, is a federal vacation in the US that honors the women and men who died whereas serving within the U.S. navy.
Memorial Day, initially referred to as Ornament Day, was first noticed on Might 30, 1868, to honor the Union troopers who died within the Civil Battle. In 1971, Congress handed the Uniform Monday Vacation Act, which established Memorial Day as a federal vacation on the final Monday in Might.
